Dr. Guglielmo is Executive Director of ARTEFFECT, a visual arts education initiative, at the Lowell Milken Family Foundation. She leads transformative learning experiences for educators and students including professional development programs, exhibitions, and an international student art competition. As an art historian and educator, Toni is dedicated to making art accessible to wide audiences and fostering creativity, innovation, and leadership development. Her career bridges work in academia and museums combining history, theory, and practice.
She served as Director of the Getty/Museum Leadership Institute at Claremont Graduate University from 2013-2023 developing executive education and mentoring programs for museum professionals from around the globe. Previously, she ran an award-winning distance learning program at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, was an educator at the J. Paul Getty Museum, and a postdoctoral fellow at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. She was Associate Editor of Curator: The Museum Journal for five years and currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of International Museum Education.
Studying art history with a specialization in American art, she holds a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, an M.A. from Tufts University, and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
