Dr. Guglielmo is Executive Director of ARTEFFECT. In this role since 2023, she leads a visual arts education initiative that provides transformative learning experiences for educators and students. She directs professional development, including the award-winning Ambassadors visual arts fellowship, student competitions, and exhibitions. As an educator, Toni focuses on making art accessible to audiences and fostering creativity, innovation, and leadership development. Her career bridges work in academia and museums, combining history, theory, and practice.
Toni was Director of the Getty/Museum Leadership Institute at Claremont Graduate University from 2013 to 2023, developing executive education programs for museum professionals from around the globe and launching a fieldwide mentoring platform. Previously, she ran an award-winning distance learning program at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, was an educator at the J. Paul Getty Museum, and a postdoctoral fellow at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. She teaches art education, art history, and museum studies to diverse audiences and serves on the editorial board for the Journal of International Museum Education.
Studying art history with a specialization in American art, Toni holds a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, an M.A. from Tufts University, and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
