Visualizing Impact @ MCAAD

ARTEFFECT presents Visualizing Impact, its inaugural exhibition on view at the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream in Washington, DC. The 3,000 square foot permanent gallery showcases award-winning ARTEFFECT projects created by young and emerging artists from around the globe.

In this gallery, visual artworks and short films explore Unsung Heroes―role models, largely unrecognized by society, who demonstrated extraordinary heroic traits and actions in service to others and made a positive and profound impact on the course of history. Their inspiring stories span centuries and diverse disciplines, including civil rights, education, innovation, STEAM, and wartime history.

Students celebrate Unsung Heroes in projects that illuminate connections between the past, present, and future.  These young artists convey the historical significance of their subjects through an array of artistic expressions and reflections. As they investigate Unsung Heroes as role models, students awaken to their own potential and the power of artmaking to stimulate positive change.

The ARTEFFECT exhibition invites visitors to experience the transformative power of visual arts education and to embark on a journey through time through an engaging and interactive experience.
