Matt Young is committed to student success inside the classroom and in the real world. A 1995 graduate of Capital University, he holds a B.F.A. in Fine Art and a master’s in education. Currently, he teaches Ceramics, Sculpture, Jewelry, Computer Graphics, and AP Art. He also serves as the department chairperson, conference coordinator of the Ohio Art Education Association, and Western Region VP Elect. Matt believes that student success is created through meaningful relationships and connecting artwork to real-life experiences. He is a noted speaker and has presented at the NAEA Convention, for The Art of Education, and at various other educational conferences across the country. In addition, he has written articles for Davis Publications, NAEA, The Art of Education, and the Ohio Department of Education. In the spring of 2025, Matt became an ambassador for the Lowell Milken Center ARTEFFECT Competition. His website, https://centralartblog.blogspot.com/, offers teacher resources for those interested.
