"The creative process teaches us about ourselves, other cultures, and our abilities through our individual experiences. I am always looking for ways to get students to take artistic risks and grow in their skills. ARTEFFECT could really challenge them in a positive way."
Katy Pascal has been teaching for over 20 years across a variety of settings and with diverse populations, including dance, art, public and private schools, and outdoor education. She is currently in her ninth year at Franklin Pierce High School and her third year advising the Native Indigenous Culture Club. When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time in nature, creating her own art, practicing yoga, or hiking with her dogs. Katy enjoys finding innovative ways to engage students and facilitate their learning, believing that art education is essential for cultivating critical thinking, cultural awareness, and social-emotional growth. Her goal as a teacher is to provide an engaging and stimulating environment that encourages students to take risks, make mistakes, and grow as individuals. She is excited about the opportunity to bring her experiences and passion for art education to communities, and her love for creating in many art mediums and for learning drives her teaching.
