By engaging with the ARTEFFECT Ambassadors fellowship, I hope to introduce my student to individuals whose courage, creativity, and resilience are less celebrated but equally powerful. Learning about these heroes can inspire my students to see themselves as changemakers, even in small ways, within their own communities

GayleTrueblood is an accomplished art educator and leader with over twenty-fiveyears of experience in curriculum development and fine art instruction. Herstudio practice includes 2D and 3D design, metalsmithing, printmaking,ceramics, fashion, and art history. Beyond her classroom, she directs theannual Spring Art Show, develops visiting artist programs, and buildspartnerships that connect students and the wider community through the arts. Apassionate advocate for arts education, Gayle is the Past President of the OhioArt Education Association (OAEA) and currently serves as Secondary DivisionRepresentative for the Western Region of the National Art Education Association(NAEA). She also represents OAEA nationally as the Equity, Diversity, and InclusionLiaison. Locally, she serves on the board of ArtSpace Lima, contributes to thePublic Arts Council for Greater Lima, and supports initiatives such as the LimaMural Project and Arts Garden collaboration. A graduate of the NAEA School forArt Leaders, Gayle continues lifelong learning while mentoring future educatorsand championing the power of art to inspire, empower, and connect.
