Angela Guy
Visual Arts Teacher, Cypress Creek High School | Houston, TX

The fellowship excites me because it highlights the stories of Unsung Heroes—ordinary individuals whose courage and creativity made extraordinary differences. I am eager to learn strategies to translate those stories into art projects that empower my students to see themselves as changemakers, capable of using their own creativity to honor resilience, advocate for justice, and leave a positive mark on the world.

Angela Guy is a visual arts educator with 27 years’ experience teaching high school visual arts. Her practice is grounded in the belief that art is a powerful tool for self-expression, critical thinking, and social change. As an educator, Guy is motivated by the opportunity to help students find their voices, cultivate creativity, and see how their ideas can make a real impact on their communities and the wider world. She strives to create learning experiences that not only build artistic skills but also connect students to larger cultural, historical, and environmental issues, inspiring them to become thoughtful and engaged citizens.
